Al Ahly’s management has stepped in to expedite the recovery timeline for Moroccan international Youssef Belamri. The 24-year-old left-back, who suffered a severe anterior cruciate ligament injury during pre-season training in Spain, will travel to Germany for an arthroscopic reconstruction.

Ahmed Jabballah, head of Al Ahly’s medical department, confirmed that the surgery is necessary to restore Belamri’s mobility and competitive level. He indicated that the choice of a German specialist is based on their expertise in arthroscopic techniques and the availability of a rapid rehabilitation protocol.
“The ACL reconstruction will be performed according to the highest international standards. We expect a return to the pitch within 6–9 months, depending on the individual recovery response,” said Jabballah.
The injury, which occurred during an intensive training camp in Spain, has forced Al Ahly to seek a replacement for the upcoming weeks of competition. Despite Belamri's absence, the club remains optimistic about the long-term benefits of a full rehabilitation.
